This picture jasper sure looks like crazy vortex for neolithic cultures!
Jasper is a variety of quartz. It is red, yellow, green or brown and is an opaque chalcedony. Bloodstone is a type of Jasper. Patterns are due to mineral impurities and sediments including with volcanic ash. Red Jasper is also the alternate birthstone of March.
The stone used here is hand cut and measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches. The entire pendant is almost 2 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches.
